Copy web site with virtuemart to another server with difrent website name

Hello everyone!

Need some help
Like i wrote in subject, i copied a complete web site to another server but under another web site name (example, original is www.peper.com and copy is www.pepito.com ). Everything is working fine except virtuemart. When i click on any link from wirtuemart it takes adges to load the page.
So i looked what is happening and aperently the whole database    is having old links from former web site.
Then what i did was download the database and changed all urls from old site to new site, but then i couldnt import back the database because when i try, i get all kinds of errors.

Does any one have any expirience with this?

To transfer a Joomla/VM site to a different domain you should use Akeeba backup to make a copy of the old site and then install it on the new domain. URLs etc are automatically set to the new address.

I regularly do this and apart from somethimes having to reset the safe path have never had a problem
