why some products gets eliminated?

Hi, i am using vm 2,0,20b. My problem is that oftenly when i add a product in a category other few products gets eliminated automatically when it is not my intention. Is it because i am adding different products with same name in same category? i have activated multivendor. Can somebody help me out?
