how to upload and use an image via ftp uploading

Hi all,
i am using Viruemart  2.0.22a on Joomla 2.5.14. I want to ask whether there is a way to upload an image via ftp. I can upload it in the folder that all the pictures are installed but then i dont know how to find and use that photo from the backend.

Any ideas?

After uploading the image by ftp to images/stories/virtuemart/product/ you can use the Synchronize media to VirtueMart  in Tools/Migration then search for the image.

thanks for the reply. i ll also update to the latest version  both joomla & virtuemart.
