Associate a category with a shipping method

Hello everyone,

I'm facing this problem, my web sells meat products and other stuff and I need that when a customer select a meat product I have to add an extra 6 euros fee, because the shipping for this kind of product needs to be refrigerated. I will have different shipping methods based on weight, but everytime a client select a meat product I need to charge him/her an extra 6 €.

I'm a bit lost with this.

Can anyone point me towards a way of doing this that doesn't involve buying a plug-in??

That plugin doesn't fit my requirements.

I think that probable I need a code modification in which I have to check is there is any product of meat category and add an extra 6 euros to the shipping method.

Anybody could help me and the partner above with this problem?

what shipping plugin are you using? The standard one Weight/Postcode?
