Installing 2.6.0a on Joomla 3.2.4

Excited to try out VM ready for Joomla 3.0 I have tried very which way to install VM 2.6.0a but without success. It says it cannot find a valid install xml file. I have tried installing from tmp file and from direct url. Is there another way I can try ?

Sorry, it is not for J3.x - as it says on  http://virtuemart.net/downloads , VirtueMart 2.6.6 is the latest stable version available. It is compatible with Joomla! 2.5.
