Installing Language pack for VirtueMart

I started a Joomla VirtueMart website last year and manually translated a lot of words to Icelandic but i now found out that there are 2 language packs in existence. I tried install the following language pack ( http://bit.ly/1kbJseA ) according to these information ( http://bit.ly/TQf8Sa ).

When i had extracted the contents from the zip to the language directory, which only contained a folder and a file before, the site is still in English and i cant figure out how to install this language pack. Does anyone know what i am supposed to do?

but  the com_virtuemart-is-IS.xml is an installer

just install the zip file as a normal Joomla installation pack - should all work

then add Icelandic in the VM admin shop
