Invoice PDF does not open (Adobe says corrupt or damaged file)

Hi all,

Joomla version 2.5.17
VM version 2.0.26d

Im having trouble with the invoice in the orders section.

When i click the icon in the backend to generate an invoice or a delivery note the file saved or tried to open shows the error "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."
I have tried saving the document and opening it from adobe but still doesnt work.

Can anyone help please??

Hi all,

As i received no reply to this issue i spoke to a programmer/developer friend who has helped out.

It turns out Php was running in safe mode and the error reporting was being output so the files were being corrupted.

The fix is to go to joomla global config - server - then set the "error reporting when in production mode" to "NONE" .

Hope this helps others.

Hey friend,

Did you take back up of original PDF document? If you have the back up copy, then you can easily restore your corrupted PDF file. If not, then a good solution is required to recover data from this file. I was having the same problem with my PDF document, I searched fro the solution over the internet and luckily I got one. I would like to share it with you.
