Product / Category Thumbnail administration

I have been looking and have been unable to find if there is a way for me to manage the thumbnail size for products and categories separately. If I change the default thumbnail size on the configuration page, it effects both product and category thumbnails. I need to set the category size to one default and the product thumbnails to another.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes - the size is global..

My work around is either set the thumb size to the larger of the two then the one you want smaller just resize by css

Or if there is a significant size difference - i.e small thumb but large cat  - change the cat templates to call the full size image and resize by css
