Calc rule - wrong selection all, some, all

I want to make choices for calc rule for profit margin before tax individually per product. There is a description here:
http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=111592.msg378987#msg378987 but the proposed cure - to have as many rules I want as long as they are emptly - is not applicable. VM applies ALL rules and let me choose none.

In the Tax & Calc rules I may choose empty fields for categories etc, define certain categories or All. The problem is that the default already is Apply to all. Shouldn't the default be Apply to none?

Now we can choose from all, some or all instead of none, some or all.

I run J2.5.18 and VM2.0.26d
