Add to chart quantity

I search for an answare but I wasn't able to find a solution.

I have:
Joomla! 2.5.14
VM 2.0.26
i tried with default template beez 5

What happen to my website (www.bgbirra.it) is that:

when I add to chart a quantity of pruduct higher than the stock one gives me error :

Product out of stock

Error - Product not successfully added

and don't add nothing to chart.

ex: add to chart 5 stock quantity 4

Is it normal?

I understud that the problem was that I selected:

Action when a Product is Out of Stock:

Do not Display Product

Modifing to:
Displays 'Notify Me' instead of 'Add To Cart' button

everityngs work fine.

the best solution will be not showing out of stock products and check if the ordere quantity is higher than the avaiable quantity.
So now I must show the out of stock products.....
