Guest checkout with name field

I've setup guest checkout (no registration required) but would like people to enter their name and email address. Email address is shown but I can't get the name field to display as well. I could of course add a custom field for this but that custom field is not shown in the orders list in backend, while the standard name field is.

Is there a way to force a display of the name field, also with guest checkout?

VM 2.0.24a + Joomla 2.5.16
