child product stock control issue

Hi,

Joomla version 2.5.6 Virtuemart version 2.0.20b

My website product Scenario:
I got products with variety of size (6, 7 , 8, 9) with variety stock level respectively.

Problem/ issue:
if one of the size is out of stock, other size also would pop out "Out of stock" message when I click "add to cart" even though that is stock available.
for example:
size 8 : stock level =2  , booked = 2
Size 7 : Stock level = 2 , booked =0
Size 6 : Stock level = 1 , booked =0
Size 5 : Stock level = 0 , booked =0

but right product with size 8 is out of stock but when I select size 7 from dropdown list and click "add to cart" button . the pop out message it show product out of stock

can you advice me how to resolve this problem.

I'm sorry but the url that you post shows a solution but child products stock control doesn't work
To be more specific.
You have a parent_prodcut (Stock=1 and  Booked, ordered products = 0) 'on product status tab'.
Also this product has two child products
Child_1 (Stock=1 and  Booked, ordered products = 0) and,
Child_2 (Stock=1 and  Booked, ordered products = 0)
When you buy Child_1 product parent_prodcut's stock remains 1 and Booked, ordered products=1
but Child_1's stock remains 1 and Booked, ordered products=0.
This is a bug. So when you visit the same parent product the 'notify me' message appears correctly
But when you choose from the dropdown menu Child_1 the add to cart button appears and then you can buy again the out of stock Child_1 product.

This is a huge bug since child stock worked fine on Virtuemart 1.
It's very annoying to have virtuemart 1 working perfect and updating in virtuemart 2 and having new bugs that previously were solved.

You are using a version released in March 2013 so why don't you update, check if the error still exists and then report it back here?

I don't know if the error exists, haven't even read it or care but If I post something I try to use the latest version to see if the problem still exists, currently 2.024a http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files

Thank you very much for the tip. Two many ours working got my head stuck. Problem was solved!!!!!
