Cart with itemized variant pricing?

Hi,
I haven't found any threads that deal with this, so I may very well be overlooking something...

This is an example of my problem:

the product costs $200
the 3 stockable variants cost $15, $10, AND $5

my cart shows:
base price - $230
Variant price modifier - $30
total -  $230

I want my cart to show:
base price - $200
Variant price modifier - $15
Variant price modifier - $10
Variant price modifier - $5
total -  $230

I can deal with the variant price modifier being summed, but I want the base price to show the actual base price, not the sum.  The way it is, upon first glance, it looks like the base price is $230 and you are adding an additional $30. This will be confusing to my customers.

Any suggestions on where/how I can edit the calculation rules?
