Virtuemart Quantity Discounts Issue

Need  help with a calculation.

Let me set the scenario.

I have set-up products with individual pricing on different quantities. e.g. buy 1 of x = $5 each, buy 3 of X = $4 each, buy 1 of Y = $10, buy 3 of Y = $7.

Now I need it to also be able to combine deals.

In other word if you buy 1 of X and 2 of Y, it should be able to calculate price as minimum of X + minimum of Y.  Total being $4 + $14 as long as you have 3 item in your cart of the same category.
