Error upgrading from 2.0.20b to 2.0.22

Installed version 2.0.20b
Latest version 2.0.22
Joomla Version 2.5.11

When i try to update from the same virtuemart option it show me this error:

Cannot open the file
Extracting the update package failed. Please try updating the extension manually.

Even when i try to install the gz file with the extension manager it show me a similar error:

JFile: :read: cannot open the file: ../tmp/com_virtuemart.2.0.22.tar.gz
Unable to read archive

When i go to the tmp path there a file called "com_virtuemart.update.zip".

What is the problem?

The first error happends to me to (unable to update via update button) could not access file.
Tried to update from VM2.0.20b -> VM2.0.22

When i try to update VM over the Extension Manager, I get the followed error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in /hp/by/aa/jk/www/zb.com/administrator/components/com_virtuemart/models/updatesmigration.php on line 303

I tried to find this parameter but fails huh...

i added the file, dont know if it help..

I had the same error, with the same configuration. But I proceeded as follows:
- unpack the *.gz file
- use the normal install procedure under Joomla to upgrade
- it shows several tables that are altered
- it shows a message that you also have to update the aio extensions, took these from the normal download file

After upgrading it shows 2.0.22 but the front-end gives now the error "Category id 0 not published". In the 2.0.21x development I found that this should have been solved. I will try the fix given there.

From virtuemart->tools or we have to update the sql database using phpmyadmin?

I downloaded the full 2.0.22a release which you have to unzip. This contains the two packages you can use with the normal Joomla installation method. Worked for me.

With the 2.0.22a also the "category 0" error has been fixed.
