Father products NOT selling

Hello,
i have a VM 2.0.6 site that sell clothes, and i have father and child variant for sizes and colors, but i have i problem.
For example, i have a t-shirt that have child variant: Size S, Size M and Size L this 3 variant are all inside the father that is "Blue T-shirt Armani".
If a user want to buy this product, it can be able to add it inside his cart also the father product, that obviusly doesn't have variant, so i receive the order without specification of size or color, how can i stop or make something for DOESN'T SELL the father but just the child variant?

the custom field dynamic child variant has a option for this, but I don't know if this is also in vm 2.0.6

lastest stable version is vm 2.0.20b
