Bizzare cart prices 3.0.9.6

In the cart i am noticing that the product's price displays the price with the discount applied and in the next column there is the discount field.
It seems a bit confusing as the usual way is price - discount + tax=total

Also i am noticing that the discount other times are negative and other positive numbers even though they are always deducted from the product's price
