Storing Credit Cards in VM 2

I would like a confirmation on whether or not VM2.x stores credit card info.  Specifically using the Authorize.net payment AIM plugin.  I scanned the database and didn't see anything initially, (which is good) but I want to make sure explicitly this is true.  1.1.x used to have a setting to choose to store credit card info or not.  This is not available (as far as I can tell) in VM 2.x.  Please someone from the VM team answer this question for me.

All the information stored in the plugin are displayed in the order on the back end.

Concerning Authorize.net: no credit card number is stored in VM tables. The only info stored is the "Account number" returned by authorized.
