Manufacturer category pricing with Anonymous and registered pricing

Hi,

I am creating a new Virtuemart 2 with Joomla 2.5 website.  ( http://www.pulsewan.com/joomla1 )
 
I will have one price for Anonymous/search engines and registered customers will have special pricing depending on who they are for each manufacturer.

For the registered users I have made up multiple markup calculation rates  to choose from for each manufacturer. This works fine when you have a manufacturer with the same discount level across all their products.

The problem is that several manufacturers have different part discounts levels based on their MSRP. This becomes a problem when working with rate calculations that are based on markup only.
If I make a rate calculation based on the manufacturer for lets say 40% discount level, this works fine for the parts that have a 40% discount cost, but the parts that have only a 20% discount will be priced way above what they should be since the rate calculation is based on the Manufacturer.

How do I categorize these parts with separate discounts so the rate calculations can apply to them separately and not just globally by manufacturer rates?
Do I have to somehow make separate product sub categories and them make multiple clones of the manufacturer calculation rates with that particular Product Category selected ?
I am trying to do this correctly from the beginning and not create a million rate calculation rules when it could possibly be done in a more efficient way.

From your point of view it's more easy to decide which way (based on the product Manufacturer or on the Category) is more preferable.

Compare these methods and find what is more suitable for you.

Also you could surf 3rd party forum section and check what possibilities could propose your other extensions for shipment.
