One single product to sell as a download or as a boxed version

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding the way i can do things : I have several products. They can be sold as download only or as boxed version (CD + manuals). I don't want to have 2 products in my store, i want to have 1 single product, and the option of buying it in a boxed version, while the standard way of buying is download. I've looked at the custom field so i can have a "box/download option" but it's not satifying. I'd like something more "official" that i can rely on. does anybody have any leads on how to do this ?

I'm using a joomla 2.5 with a virtuemart 2.0.20b

I presume you have written to the developer of the extension?
