Products Module?

Right i have numerous catgories and within them categories i have sub-categories, for example Gaming > Xbox 360 > New

Now on my frontpage i am looking to display all the latest games from all categories under gaming such as xbox360, ps3, pc etc etc
in the backend it allows me to choose a category but it doesnt show any products as the products are under a sub category and i dont want to choose latest etc as each category on my website is different like laptops, pc's

Any help please?

Do the games belong both in their sub-category and parent category? If yes, the task looks easy: VM products module -> Display latest products ->Use category filter = "YES" -> Category = your_parent_gaming_category

version 2.0.12 allows you to add multiple products into one category -
Why not just create a category called games.

Click all the games you want to add and then use the new function to put them under one new category. They then will be in several categories - the original spread across the site and also in your new category Games.

Hi guys no its like this, because there is a category games, i needed to add sub categories like xbox games, ps3 games, wii games, so basically i can show the latest products by choosing the sub categories like xbox games, but if i select the main category Games then nothing shows.
I have chosen the category Games, but nothing shows as no products are actually under the category Games, but under the sub-categories Xbox 360, PS3 etc

If i select a sub category its fine, like Xbox 360 but im trying to have it show all games like Xbox, ps3, wii, instead of needing a new module for each sub category

I would do it like this: category Games -> subcat A, subcat B; Product 1 belong both in Games and subcat A, Product 2 and 3 belong both in Games and subcat B. In other words, all games belong in Games category. Is that what you wanted?

no because Games is simply the main category, then underneath we have like Xbox 360, Playstation 3, so basically im trying to have the products module show the games in the sub categories as these have products in, the main games category doesnt have anything in it as its just a main category showing whats in therre

Why not add all games into Games category as well just like SamF and John2400 suggested?
