VM2 Search plugin big bug (problem)

Did anyone have the problems with VirtueMart 2 search plugin that is on the front page. I have bought a Virtuemart template at templatemonster dot com and when use the search function on the website it can't find any product by product number or even word that are in the product description.

Example product description
OEM part no.:
04438-87F30-000,
04438-97410-000,
04438-97417-000.

I tried the search words: 04438-87F30-000, 04438, OEM    etc - it says that can't find the product, while the product is there. This problem make the use of virtuemart for me useless.

I have asked support at templatemonster and here is their reply :

We have investigated your issue and should inform that it is related to the Search plugin and has nothing to do with the template. The issue is that when you use dash in your keyword, it is getting cut and tries to search without (-). For example, if you search 04438-87F30-000, it will look as 0443887F30000 after you click Enter. We were hoping that this issue has been fixed in the last Search module version:

This should be solved. There was an other thread about this problem at the forum. It works fine for me. Did you try it with a Joomla template (Atomic, Beez2, Beez5)?
