Editing Low Stock & Notify Me Emails - How?

I assuming the template for the low stock emails is: administrator/components/com_virtuemart/models/product.php
and the template for Notification Emails is:  /components/com_virtuemart/views/productdetails/view.html.php

I garnered this from searching around using the constants in the language file. I could definitely be wrong though....

Can someone please explain how to edit these emails? The commenting on these files is woefully inadequate for anyone but a very experienced programmer to make sense of what is what.

Its not even really clear which file controls which email is which and how they are sent. At the very least can someone please explain WHICH FILES ARE USED AND HOW THEY ARE TRIGGERED?

I can find no explanation of their formatting or triggers in any of the documentation.

All forum searches only turn up threads about them not working at all.... I think mine ARE being sent but I would like to edit their text.
