Specific Problem with Add to Cart in Category View, IE Only

Having a strange problem with the "add to cart" button, but only in Category view, and only on Internet Explorer (ever other browser I've tried works fine, all other views in IE, e.g. product detail/featured, work fine).
  In IE, when the "add to cart" button is clicked, rather than the usual pop-up window, it redirects to a version of the shopping cart with the module configuration and link address of index.php. The product is not added to the cart.

Using Joomla Version: 2.5.8
Virtuemart Version: 2.0.14

Hello,

Likes to be a javascript conflict with IE. Tested with IE and works fine for me. With IE compatibility view on gets me to the cart, so there is a javascript issue. You are using jquery 1.8.2 ... you could give a try with 1.7.x. Also as i see you are using gantry framework and js loaded by other third party modules. You could try to disable them and test your site under ie9 and check if one of them cause that conflict. In general there are no conflicts or duplicate js files loaded.

Please search the forum for similar occasions, no one cannot help you if you don't mention vm2, joomla and php versions you are  using, if you are using custom overrides or custom joomla templates (commercial i suppose). Also a live url will help us to test your site using firebug

Use firebug to examine your site code and styling .. also for checking js conflicts ...
