New customers assigned group admin

I don't know how and why, but all my new customers are assigned to the group "admin" (instead of shopper). The Joomla group is correct (registered), the shopper group is correct (default),
but the group is "admin"... this leads to the fact, that shoppers can edit products in the frontend!!!
Joomla 2.5.7., VM 2.0.12f

Hope that someone can help. If not for the groups maybe someone can tell how to disable the frontend editing?

Very strange. I can understand this only with access to phpmyadmin and so,... please contact me via pn.

Sorry, this turned out to be a problem with Joomla ACL. Registered users had too high permissions  and hence VM customers were assigned to group admin...
