Joomla! 2.5.6 -   VM2.0.10

The get user friendly URL's - I have...

Reset htaccess.txt to .htaccess

Changes SEO Settings to

Search Engine Friendly URLs  YES

Use URL rewriting            YES

when I GOTO cart  - continue shopping link not working as is all category links on the virtuemart LH menu
Only way to get back out of cart is ... to click on HOME  link on Top menu

Changed SEO Settings back to

Search Engine Friendly URLs  NO

Use URL rewriting            NO

All links work OK

can anyone help me re the solution... Thanks

I can confirm what coramba says.

Joomla SEF = off
VM SEO = disabled

all works.

Joomla SEF = on
VM SEO = disabled

ask a question = modal opens - 404 The requested product does not exist.


Joomla SEF = on
VM SEO = enabled (empty)

Rewrite URL setting will do redirection(301) from dynamic page to meaningful name and this may be the reason you are not able to access old pages with query string. There is no harm to implement SEO and URL rewriting setting but make sure you manage them properly
