Just a simple children dropdown list in VM2

I'm so sorry to have to ask but I simply can't get this simple selection list to work in VM2.

I would just like my children (they are already in VM2 with CSV) to be in a drop down list for the customer to select.

In VM1 I made children ( I did this in CSV improved) and uploaded them. Then I would select "Override Child products Display Values and use parents" and that would be all.
I didn't even have to make attributes. Making children in CSV was enough. It made a very clean, easy list of selectable children.

In the website you go to the parent page - click on the desired child - the image changes and shows the correct bag so no mistake what you are ordering - You buy it!

How can you do that in VM2???
