Hello everyone - old hand at Joomla, new to VM

Looking to provide a facility via the click of a button on the home page (and subsequent pages)

I would like some customers (businesses) to see prices (WITHOUT VAT) on product pricing page (not checkout) and other customers (individuals) to see prices (WITH TAX) at the product level.

Is there any way to do this ? A module / extension ? Happily pay for such a feature

Thanks in advance for any reply

In VM you can have two sets of prices for products.  You can have more but lets just stick with your question.

* However your business people will need to be recognised by the software as business people.

* To do this they will have to be registered and be in a special group. The others or guests will not have to register.

* Then your business people can have different prices for goods. They will only see these prices only when they come to your store sign in and the prices will be different for them.

I have a related question:
Is it possible to show prices both with and without VAT, and when costumers are picking their products they are charged with VAT, but after entering their address (being located outside EU and therefore not having to pay VAT), the VAT is removed?

I have made two different tax rules - one for countries that pays VAT, and another for countries that does not have to pay VAT.
It doesn't seem to work UNLESS I set each product-tax-rule to "Generic rules", BUT - then my 2 price tags (ex. VAT and incl. VAT) both show the price without VAT. only if the costumer creates a login, he will be able to see the correct price incl. VAT.

Somehow the system should only calculate the VAT after login and not immediately the product enters the basket.

My system: J2.5.6 and VM2.0.8e

Lets try this _ you have a store that has a note that says in the heading that products and taxes apply depending on your country.

* The products displayed in your store have a set price depending on your default country.

* When a guest customer adds the products to the cart the products have one price. When they enter their address the products change price depending on the Country. ( ie the tax created by you) - you can have several taxes.

* Or if the customer registers first the products will display their price because you have set up taxes based upon individual products.

*Postage , handing are different settings.

* The only way to display both taxes is to write the price in text next to the product - * i would only use estimates.

* you need to show an image of your tax settings - and then maybe one product settings to give us an idea of maybe why it does not work the way you wish.  Maybe the forum can help.

The way you describe this is like a reverse tax - VAT might be your default tax and then - when they add their address it takes it away - this should be possible.

HC

Hey John2400, thanks  :D
Yes, it is possible, as you suggest, to make a reverse tax rule. In my case I charge 25% in tax, and so I simply make a reverse tax (-%) with -20%.

It may be more difficult for those who has different tax rates - such as 5,5%, but for me it works pretty simple. Lets see if the counter accepts the calculation  ???

See the attachments how it works:

Interesting your shopper groups?

* If I arrive at your shop as a guest then I should be in the default group - and that should be everybody - so You should not have to add a shopper group or country?  you just set a tax on goods of VAT tax. Everyone sees it.

Your goods or products should not have to be in a and group they also should be just a blank shopper group.

* then you make one reverse tax - say -20% and that applies to everyone who is not in the EU.

* so everyone sees the VAT tax but when you enter say Australia - then it takes 20% off .?

I think that's how it should work.    Do you have groups against products?

HC

Yes, I use the "Gold Level" shopper group for business costumers (which I have to lift manually because there is no EU VAT-id validator yet).
This is another issue though, but I have to make clones of all my products for the Gold Level, because VM2 has not got the feature to add several prices to  the same product, which would be much easier.
