Merge Joomla user creation with VM shopper fields ?

I tried to search for this but could not find anything ?

I am using VM 2.0.8e on Joomla 2.5.6

Currently, our shoppers need to create a Joomla user account and only then can they go manage their VM addresses. There should be a way  to have the VM shopper fields directly added to the Joomla user creation process in order to avoid a 2 step process ?

Am I going about this the wrong way ?

Thanks,
Danny

Just read the manual, use the correct joomla view of virtuemart. it is already done that way, look here http://extensions.virtuemart.net/my-account

Mmm, ya OK, i see.

That being said, is there a way to have the Joomla "register" link default to this page ? In other words, the "Register" link under the login form would lead to http://dev.6degres.ca/actualisation/creer-un-compte/view/user

Otherwise, we need to disable the Joomla user registration register option in order to force the user/shopper to register once he is in the purchasing process or tries to order/checkout ?

Thanks,
Danny

I managed to achieve this but it required me to "hack" the mod_login default.php file. I simply changed the registration hyperlink to the VM user creation page. However, this is a sloppy approach as any Joomla updates could erase my work. I could use the override method but then i will not benefit from any Joomla updates to that module unless I replicate them on each update (when applicable).
