2.0.6 -> 2.0.8c upgrade problem

Hi!
I have the "zip" field disabled under "Shopper Fields".
Now, the VM plugin "VM - Shipment, By weight, ZIP and countries" depends on the zip code.
So now it just fails now, if it is not selected.

Is it possible to remove this dependency? I.e., if the zip is not set, just not use it.
