order quantity based on stocklevel

Hi,

If I have a product X that has a stocklevel of 10, a customer can order more than available.
Is it possible to set the max quantity automatically based on the stocklevel ?

Besides that, if the customer orders 15 of Product X, I am able to set the status to shipped for all products even when the stocklevel = -5. Wouldn't it be better to be able to ship only 10 and have 5 on backorder ?

Anyone likes to share their experience with me on this ?
