Default Price?

I have 2 different custom field groups working great. They both are drop downs with preset options to purchase either single items or by the case.

The problem is if you don't select anything and click "add to cart" the single price shows up as default (like they already choose to purchase one single product) - and it shouldn't, it should be "zero". A price should be calculated "only" if they select one of the preset selections in one or both of the drop downs.

Any ideas on how to make this happen?
