Title: product sales not counted
Post by: p.barg on March 08, 2012, 10:09:41 AM
Hello,
using VM 2.0.2 with Joomla 1.5/1.7/2.5 the product sales don't get counted (i.e. they are not recorded in DB)... In version 2.0.0 sales were increased correctly, but in all later versions the problem occurs. As product sales are crucial for quite a few extensions, I wonder what happened.

Sorry, again. I am not able to understand you.

"product sales don't get counted" is NOT "(i.e. they are not recorded in DB)" The order_items are recorded in the db. Please be aware of your language. So what you do you mean?

Why the people make it so hard for everyone to understand them. The task of language is that others understand you.

So please, provide a link, where you are looking for some information. Then describe which information is not there. Where should be the product sales be counted? Do you mean the money? Yes, man counting sales means money it can mean items (aka products) also, yes. But why not using correct definitions.

Maybe your questions is: "How can I check, how many products of an article I have already sold. Or, where is the stock? Or where can I see the amount of money I already did."

Sorry, you are just the 3rd post this morning, which is understandable, because people do not use the right words. And being a non native is not an excuse. My grammar is shit, but afaik I use the right words and they are easy to find.

I mean the field product_sales in the DB table #__virtuemart_products  is not updated after a product has been sold (and shipped).
I hope, I've made myself clear now.

yes! When you write product_sales I know you mean a field of the db, because you used the _ . Hmm interesting, I must admit I was not aware of it. So you say it worked in vm2.0.0, interesting, thanks.

Glad, that was clearer now  ;)
Yes, it worked until 2.0.0 and then somehow got lost...

I remember now, imho we removed it. Because the product_sales are not defined. We found out it is better to add that to the report. You are usually interested in sales per day or per month.

Furthermore you know only later if you actually sold it. Sold can be orderstatus confirmed or shipped. Missing is the value for the revenue report.
