I use 2.0.3 , 2.5.1 JM.
I have the small shopping cart on the left column showing all the time-

I would like to change the background colour of the small module shopping cart - not the main page shopping cart.

Just so it stands out a little more -

If you look at the module template joomla_root/modules/mod_virtuemart_cart/tmpl/default.php you will see that this may be possible by including in your template/vm css a background colour for the vmCartModule class.
