Hi,
where in the Paypal plugin can I input my API data (username, API signature, password)?
In shop/payment methods/configuration I can only enter email-adress for paypal and sandbox, but no API information. I thought paypal would be pre-configured in Virtuemart, as it is described on the German Virtuemart Website for partner Paypal ???
Is there a plugin-extension or something else I can use? (I think I have not the skill level to manually integrate the paypal API)
Thank you in advance for help and Best Regards from Germany
Oliver
This is a really good question and I would love to hear how to over some this issue as I am experiencing the same concerns.
There is no API version of Paypal plugin....
There is this one: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extension-specific/virtuemart-extensions/virtuemart-payment-systems/5515
Hi VM Development team,
This is the one of important plugin we need as inbuilt functionality in VM2..
The link shared by "jenkinhill" is no more working.. i mean those developers are not available and they are not at all responding to my inquiry email for the past 1 week. Also i tried to buy through their system but it leads to "Order Cancelled" page after successful payment through Paypal.
Anyone please share the VM2.0 Paypal Pro version plugin as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Venki. N
Also desperately waiting for this PayPal preconfiguration..... VirtueMart and developrs... anyone can help??
Configuring PayPal in VirtueMart 2 is easy!
1. In VM2 administration menu go to 'Shop' - 'Payment Methods'
2. Select "New" from the top menu.
3. Give it a name, i.e. "PayPal", set the checkbox to 'Published' = "Yes", select "VM-Payment, PayPal" in the dropdown list and click on 'Save'.
4. Now go to the second tab and configure your PayPal payment method. For testing you need to enter at least a PayPal payment (test-customer) email and a test-merchant (Sandbox) email.
5. Save your PayPal payment method configuration.
...that's the easy part.
(There also is some information about this in our Wiki at: http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/wiki/VM2_Shop_Menu (http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/wiki/VM2_Shop_Menu) - Scroll down to "VM Payment PayPal - Payment Information Tab"
6. The more difficult part now is configuring your account at PayPal as described here in PayPal's sandbox (testing) tutorial:

Imho paypal is not a virtuemart partner
i have found a plugin for paypal pro api to accept credit cards on the site (direct payment ) from joomlacache.com,hope this will be helpful for your paypal api plugin need for vm2.0
What you are describing is PayPal Pro for which SSL and a PayPal Merchants account will be needed.
Many people use PayPal Express which uses a PayPal API and does not require SSL. Perfect for the small business and widely used by them. In my honest opinion, VirtueMart 2.0 is currently not fit for purpose, basic transaction functionality like PayPal Express should be available out of the box, it is from you competitors. It is a real shame because VM2.x is a good product set but a shopping cart without easily configured, out of the box Payment Systems is just a bunch of pretty code.
