Title: frontend editing and updating ?
Post by: KWB on February 22, 2012, 19:37:09 PM
New to VM. Can I provide a client the ability to add products from the frontend in VM 2. When I try to edit a product I get a blank screen and I don't even see anywhere to add new products on the frontend. Sorry if I'm just not seeing something but I can't find a way to edit VM from the frontend at all.

Is this possible with a different version ? This seems to be a great extension but if I can't allow a client to look after his "store" from the frontend then it won't work.

Again, sorry if this is just a newbie mistake.

Thanks

I get this error:
The requested URL /index2.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=productdetails&task=edit&virtuemart_product_id=2 was not found on this server.

Yes a little different,

I did this to put the front end admin on my page .

I went to the back end first and modules>>virtuemart>> copied the direct link to the shop
Then still in the back end>>menus>>Main menus>>site administrator>> change the menu type to external>>paste your link in>> change access to registered. or special.

Remember I do not allow customers to register permanently in my shop I have turned that option off. So test to see if  registered user can buy a product and see the admin link after they purchase ( just test that)

Menu Location >>main menu,    but you can change this.

Publish Site administrator

So now I have a button on the front of my site only to registered users and shows a Virtuemart admin link.
My clients were quite happy with that.

Real frontend editing of products is partly done, but we removed the feature (commented), because we decided to fix first things we see as bugs .

How to uncomment it?
When do you plan to release this feature?
