Dear all
This is the first time i started with VM2. I installed the version 2.0.1.c . I had to as some things didn't appear in the backend of VM.
I am very impressed by your component and i'm looking forward to learn everything about this.
But i have a question about importing database of a shop which is not VM of any kind. (php/HTML). I've searched on the internet and in this forum, but i cant find any info about this.
How do i import a sgl dump of another shop? I am already happy if just the products are imported and/or the categories.
I noticed there is a DB tool in the backend, but i cant find the right way to import.
Could you please advise me?
f.y.i. i am dutch so i hope you'll understand my English.
Kind regards
Renata

^^ if you can use CSV improved, that would be easier.

Thanks for your help!
I think this module is what i need. I tried to install it (joomla 2.5.1) en got the following:
"You are running PHP version 5.2.17, CSVI requires at least PHP version 5.3. Installation cannot continue."
So i have to contact my host.
Thanks anyway
Kind regards
Renata
Renata, you should checkout xmampp
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html
You can set up your own test server locally to build your site. The newest version has php 5.3+++
Thanks. First i try to contact my host as i prefer to build a website under the same conditions as the live site will be, perheps changing htaccess file is enough. If not than I'll use xampp as you suggested. Thanks for the tip!
Kind regards
Renata
Contacted my host. He will investigate whether or not its possible to call for php 5.3x via htaccess doc. But this could take a while.
Therefore i tried to setup a xampp server. Everything went well except for installing VM 2.
After installing this is what i get:

Please advise?
Thanks in advance,

make sure you are installing the right version
what verson did you install?
what is your computer's operating system?
Try turning off error reporting in your php.ini as that looks like it is set to report all possible issues.
yes, that's all it is going to be
That did the job!
first i changed on in off in the php.ini file:
display_errors
; Default Value: off
; Development Value: On
; Production Value: Off
But that didn't work. But a colleague of mine told me u can do this also in the backend. So i turned it off in the backend of joomla also. Errors are gone.
This evening i try to import the sql dump, export to a new dump and import on the site which i am building.
I will let you know the outcome.
many thanks!
Kind regards
Renata
As promised i let you know the outcome:
I succeeded importing database with help of a third party.
Thank you for all your help
