Title: PayPal, money going nowhere
Post by: hmmm on January 03, 2012, 10:38:53 AM
Hey,

I'm using final VM version with an up-to-date joomla and the provided Paypal module. I made a PayPal dev account, with both a virtual shop and buyer account to test the payment system. In the configuration I've enabled the sandbox option and provided the virtual shop account.

When checking out I'm redirected to the dev PayPal site and I can confirm the payment. So far so good. But then nothing more happens, the money isn't transferred to the virtual account (but is gone from the buyers account) and thus the order is 'stuck'.

Any tips how to debug this?

Thanks!

You have to log in to the Paypal sandbox account and accept the payment or something similar (long time since I did it). You only need to do this once and it works from then on.

Thanks, there was indeed some money waiting for me on the account (too bad it's virtual money  ;)). Sometimes the solutions are so easy :).

One more question, I assumed the payment process would be fully automatic with Paypal. So that once the shop has received the payment, the status of the order would change. Is it possible to send the buyer a feedback email telling him the shop has received the payment after a successful payment?

Actually, the order email is only sent if the payment has been accepted? not if the user did not pay, or the payment has for some reason been refused. There should be no need to send an email after.
We have enhanced the sending of an order email, and the order status will be included in the next version in the email.

How may I enlarge or modify the page after the cart is completed...the SMALL words:

Thank you for your order!
Click Here to Pay with PayPal

Hi,

QuoteHow may I enlarge or modify the page after the cart is completed...the SMALL words:
I have that. Now the "Thank you for your order!" is not displayed anymore,.
Now ther is a message like "Automatic redirect...if not then Click Here to Pay with PayPal"

Quote"Automatic redirect...if not then Click Here to Pay with PayPal"

Thank you..

Also?

IF there is only (1) shipping method installed. THEN no reason for "customerSelectShipping"

Hi,

Please go on the VirtueMart config, checkout tab. You will see the automatic parameter.
