Title: any payment processors for UK banks under development
Post by: bunglehaze on December 09, 2011, 15:00:04 PM
Hi there folks, I am still fiddling with VM2 for my shop and want to explore the option of using a payment processor instead of Paypal to get rid of their extortionate charges but currently am a little confused about which bank to go with for the account and if a payment plugin will work through the site. Can any of you recommend any other payment processors other than paypal that are simple to use and not as high a cost and if you are a plugin developer are you working on a specific bank payment processor plugin - if so who?

Any suggestions or advice gratefully received.

Devs, I contacted a company providing gateway's for VM1 to see if they are updating their product for VM2 and had the following back as a reason they have not completed one yet:

"their code doesn't seem to update the orderstatus to completed after payments"

Is this something that is being sorted currently? Obviously if this is a major holding point for these 3PD it would be good to get a fix on it.

regards

Assuming you already have a merchant bank account providing internet services then you can use Sage Pay Go (http://shop.sage.co.uk/sagepay.aspx) to act as gateway between the store and the merchant service provider. They charge just £20 for up to 1000 transactions per quarter or 10p per transaction if over 1000. You just need to add in the Merchant service commission rate (anything up to 5% depending on your contract).

I'd guess that 3rd party developers will have suitable commercial plugins ready shortly after the final release of VM2

Thanks Kelvyn, I am actually looking at Sagepay at the moment as they look to be reasonable enough. I have spoken to a 3rd party developer who says they are working on a plugin but are held back as VM2 does not return the orderstatus to completed after transaction and this is a sticking point (for obvious reasons)

Hi there,

I use Sagepay on a VM1 site and it works pretty well. We also use a 3rd party developer plugin to link through to Sage.

They had an add on option to sort out the order status problem which also existed in VM1.

I believe their plugin for VM2 will be out at the end of March.

PM me if you need more info
