I have tried several times to upgrade to RC3-e; the aio uploads, but not the Pre-e.

Try increasing upload_max_filesize in your server php.ini - that is the usual reason for a failed upload.

I am on a shared server, and don't have access to the php.ini file. I believe my workaround is to ftp all the files.
Does this mean I will have to unzip and ftp each time I upgrade?
