Title: Virtuemart 2 to Facebook integration?
Post by: shakir on November 16, 2011, 21:05:17 PM
Seems facebook stores are the way to go and many shops are including native facebook shop connectivity.
Was hoping/wondering if VM2 will have an easy way to do this?

I would rather stick with Virtuemart so I hope it's possible.

I'm sure it's possible. Someone will just need to write a plugin for it.

If anyone knows the Facebook API and would be willing to do that side, I could develop on the VM side. I just don't know anything about creating Facebook apps and don't really have the time to learn it right now.

For a simple modification on the checkout process to make it send it as a quote instead of finalizing the order process, that's ridiculous.

I am happy to pay for a product when i don't have the skills to make it myself, but a ridiculous price for something that would add little additional benefit to a store.
It was stupid marketing on he's part, selling a product at such a high price when it has little additional benefit guarantees little to no sales.

The guy who wrote the sef patch could of easily spent the same amount of time working but sold it for $10, now that has great benefit to a store and at that price he guaranteed hundreds if not thousands of buyers making up the cost of his time dozens of times over.

Unless someone desperately needs a quoting function that will not pay such a ludicrous price when it can be done manually in almost no time, even for something like insurance reason an insurance company needs a cost of replacement they do not care if it says quote or purchase order on top, it has a valid company name with valid details and valid prices.

Something like the facebook api would be worth that, if not more because it has major benefits to a store automatically making it worth the price.

I was looking for a way to send to facebook too and eventually found a service that does it; it's free for the number of books I sell. http://www.cart2network.com/

I did find it a bit tricky to install as I didn't have all the info needed at first but they we're very helpful and you can't beat free!
