Title: VM2 Search Module issues
Post by: jjk on September 10, 2011, 22:14:18 PM
J1.7/VM2 SVN Revision 4069

Using the VM2 'Search Box' produces some strange results.

First, if the module is placed in a menu position, it initially shows a single empty search form without buttons. After typing a word to search for into the form and hit enter, it always redirects to the frontpage and shows the result in the 'browse-view' below the 'category-view'. The 'browse view' is being displayed with default.php, even if myown.php is set in VM2 configuration (Can I set this to 'myown.php' somewhere?).

Also, another search box shows up at the top of the frontpage including a search button and a drop-down list which includes the item "Group of fields". Is this somehow related to custom fields?

Yes those are custom fields. If you open default.php, or whateve file you are using,  its at the top of the file.

Do you have yourown.php set as default?

Yes, I've set "myown.php" as default - and I didn't define any custom fields yet.

Has this issue ever been resolved. I am using vm 2.0.6 and the problem with the custom fields still exists.
