Title: How to organize VirtueMart 2 translations?
Post by: jjk on September 07, 2011, 22:14:31 PM
I was just thinking about how to make translating VirtueMart 2 easy for (registered) translators and at the same time provide a common place for collecting the completed language packs.
My current favourite idea is to install the 'Missing-T' translation component on a (future) VirtueMart 2 Demo site...

What do you think about this?

Hey, you replied to a one year old post. Meanwhile we have Transifex. Personally I use Notepad++ for the german translation, but there are also a few tools in the JED:
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/languages/language-edition (http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/languages/language-edition)
I think "Localise" recently was updated to work with the Bing translator. (Those still linking to Google translator don't work anymore)
Are you looking for something easier than all these tools?

I use Notepad++ also for the Greek translation, it's easier to me edit the files faster and have some undo options, fast search, search in files, compare, etc...
