Print Page - cart items always 0 no counting

Title: cart items always 0 no counting

I have the cart installed and almost working well but when I add an product to the cart it doesnt update the status of the cart to show that there is now something in it what is the problem
i have refreshed the page nothing happened
used chrome & ie7 nothing changed
please give me help
