I got this file (virtuemart1.5-beta1a.zip) from here: http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files. Is this file supposed to work on Joomla 1.6? If not where is the file that does?
And if it is the correct file, the backend looks strange as per the attached image.

You will have to wait a few weeks for
Beta2 if you want Joomla 1.6 compatibility. Virtuemart1.5-beta1a.zip works on Joomla 1.5.x only - see filename ;)
I thought I read somewhere that there was a file available for testing - so I thought that was it... Anyway, thank you.
I'm using Beta 3 on a clean install of Joomla 1.6 and having the same issues. If this can't be fixed I'm going to have to take the whole site down and re-do everything from scratch as there doesn't seem to be any way to un-install without destroying the entire site. Removing the files with FTP only gives errors that forced me to re-upload and re-do the entire menu system and module layout.

Note: If you install VM2Beta3 on a remote server and start working with it, keep in mind that there will not be an update from VM2Beta3 to VM2 Release Candidate or stable version! Since the release of Beta3 a lot of code and a few database tables have been changed, deleted or added.
