Today I was following a thread and one of the responses from a "Hero Member" stated that the new VM 1.5 will be re-designated as 2.0. Actually that seems like a good idea given the ongoing confusion some people having distinguishing between 1.1.5 and 1.5, not mention the Joomla versions too. More importantly if that is the direction you want to go, I suggest doing it sooner rather than later. Let's make sure we are all talking about the same thing, agreed?

...I wonder if the confusion among users would become less if there would be a BIG, bright version label in the VM configuration panel saying something like:
You are using
VirtueMart 1.1.5
Latest stable version is VirtueMart 1.1.6
Perhaps an idea for VM 2.0, too - in order to avoid possible future user confusion :D
Yes it might help but the orognal question is still unanswered.

Thanks Bruce for that hint.
Yes you are right, we should do it asap. Thanks posts like yours strengthens the idea.
Make it VM 1.6 please in line with Joomla 1.6.
We should all really be moving to Joomla 1.6 anyway as a matter of course while still supporting Joomla 1.5
Thank you.
Yes, many peole will be migrating to J1.6 once VM is available but to suggesting that J and VM should use the same version numbers is nonsense. They are independant programs and their development releases do not march in lockstep. Version 2.0 makes perfect sense especially considering the scope of the changes being made.

Where can i download vm2.0 beta?
The link is here - http://virtuemart.net/news/list-all-news/388-beta-virtuemart-15-released
Since then it has been renamed as VM2 beta. There have been a lot of file changes since that version, though, but a second beta package has not yet been released.
and the new beta will be found at the same place ?
thank you
When beta2 is released a link will be provided.
