I'm a little lost, and maybe just need a little clarification. I don't know how to actually get estimated shipping from UPS. As best as I can figure now is that I have to set up a separate shipping rate for each weight and zipcode range that I want. Meaning I have to go to UPS and calculate info for each rate that I have to calculate.
I don't understand how this UPS module differs from the Standard shipping module. I mean, if I have to calculate all the shipping rates myself. I thought the UPS shipping module would actually contact UPS and retrieve rates based on the product's weight and customer zip. Am I missing something here?
All help is appreciated.. . .
Thanks, Justin

You do not have to calculate anything for the module. You simply need to enable the module, enter your UPS credentials into the appropriate fields, and select which services you want to offer.
The module takes care of the rest.
Well, that's what I thought. But the only way I seem to get a value to show up is to assign a fee in the shipping rates. If I don't then UPS comes up with a charge of zero. It's acting like it's not retrieving any data from the UPS site. I'm pretty sure all my settings are correct. Am I missing something else?
Thanks for the help.
Jeeshshsh.. Ok, now I've got it.. . I really thought those shipping rates at the bottom on the configuration page actually had to do with fuel surcharges.. . Duh!! So, I enabled a few and seems to work fine now.. Thanks!!!
I am currently having the same problem. It was working before but it stopped working and only charges the handling fee for shipping.
Did you actually have to put a percentage for the fuel surcharge rate?
I just enabled 2 of the options. I didn't do anything to the surcharge. I'm using the updated UPSv2 now, and I just left the surcharge blank, for now, at least. This should allow virtuemart to talk to ups and give the estimates for shipping. Not sure if this helps.. I'm still learning myself..
