Post by: Ricsta on March 30, 2010, 15:58:35 PM
Hi All,

I have basically finished my ecommerce store now using virtuemart

Im still not generating much sales tho, I have tryed to make the site as user friendly as I can and took advice from alot of people.

I thought I would post my site here and see if you guys had any advice. Today I set up a payment method using barcalays ePDQ CPI, I hope this attracts more buyers as before my only payment method was paypal.

And thanks for such a great component which I still cant believe it free!

Looks good. I like it, although your pages need a lot of scrolling (the selling message must be seen without any need to scroll) and you need to check some spelling - eg Barcalays ePDQ CPI Secure Payment Method
and also your grammar is incorrect in some places. English shoppers of quality items are likely to be put off by incorrect spelling and grammar as that does not create the right image.

It does take time to build up a business so don't expect a ot of sales straight off. It is rare to find Swarovski at reduced prices - I thought the parent company did not allow it. I may be a shopper later in the year...

HI Ricsta,

To optimize a little bit more your store you can use as well Artio SEF component with the virtuemart plugin to generate clean url.

But same as Kelvyn said it takes time to build business. Since how long your website is live?

Cheers,

Cyril

Hi

I agree there is alot of scrolling, thats the main thing thats bugged me, seems hard trying to fit everything close together without it looking messy.

I will take a look around and see what browse page themes I can find.

Hmm for some reason I thought it was barcalays, thankyou for the correction lol

Artio SEF component, thankyou for sharing this with me. I always wondered how to activate the SEF urls. Its a very nice component!

Thankyou

Any more feedback is welcome :)
