Title: loooong urls
Post by: Jeff on April 23, 2004, 08:10:04 AM
http://www.christensenwholesale.com.yourtempsite.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&root=fde7399b928db45343109907c5e1a218&category_id=2f2e27fd32966e1833374263bfbb093d&option=com_phpshop

This is an example of the URL that I get (even with SEF). Will search engines index this? Is there a way to turn some of this off without a heavy mod?

Thanks,

Hello,
1. on which site do you get this link? Was it created while SEF mode being enabled?

2. There's a "beautiful category id" mod for phpShop available.
Look here: http://forums.edikon.com/index.php?showtopic=4202

Maybe I'll integrate it in future versions.

ciao, soeren

Yeap, I enable SEF. I looks like GOOGLE will still index that long url. (I tried a searcd for the ladder and hammer URL's on your site)

Thanks!

Will other search engines index it too?
