Title: PayPal Pro CA from myjoomlaextensions.com
Post by: Laurelle on November 29, 2009, 03:51:39 AM
Hello,

Has anyone been able to get PayPal Pro CA from myjoomlaextensions.com to work properly?

I installed the PayPal Pro package, got the API credentials and set up the PayPal Pro CA payment gateway in VM. We were then able to purchase an item it seemed successfully from PayPal's prospective, but VM still had the transaction set as Pending. Paypal showed the transaction as successful.

So I then went and enabled IPN in PayPal backend giving it the link to the adminstrator notify.php file.

Now when we try to make a purchase all we seem to be able to get is a white page with this message:
There was a problem getting the credit card number.
After you confirm your order and have entered good credit card information.

Here are some questions:
1. There is a PayPal Pro and PayPal Pro Express Checkout folder in the download that comes. Do you install both packages or just one the other? I looked at the files in both packages and some of the files are named the same thing and are in the same folders, so only installed the PayPal Pro package.

2. The documentation on the myjoomlaextensions.com website says that you have to hack the VM tables when you enable IPN, but I can't find anywhere what tables need to be hacked and how they need to be hacked.

Has anyone found clear instructions on exactly what to do on both the VM side as well as PayPal to get this all to work.

I have up in a couple of tickets to the developer, but no response, which is very disappointing for a paid extension.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as we need to go live with this Tues.

Thanks.

What is PayPal Pro giving you that is not available in the VM PayPal Module.

I am curious to know how others are using PayPal with VM. I have recently written an update for VM PayPal Module that uses _xcart giving order lines and detail. It works very well and I think it provides what shops typically need. Any incite into the need for PayPal Pro would be appreciated.

Heres the differences between the 2...

The default Paypal payment module that comes with VM takes you to paypal.com in order to complete the order by paying. Paypal Pro stays on your website and allows you to enter credit cards (no leaving your site).
